On March 14, the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan stated that it had apprehended some 22 people, who were planning attacks against various Azerbaijani as well as American, Israeli and other foreign targets under the direction of forces closely affiliated to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps. This is not the first time Azerbaijan authorities disrupt activities by radical groups in the region.
